Vision
The goals of the California Science and Engineering Fair Foundation are to promote scientific and engineering literacy and curiosity, encourage scientific and engineering accomplishment, and generate an appreciation for the processes by which scientists and engineers push back the frontiers of the unknown.
Our vision is to be the epicenter of transformative experiences that inspire a lifelong love for science and engineering. We envision a future where every student across the state is not just a participant but an active explorer, a fearless innovator, and a confident contributor to the ever-evolving landscape of human knowledge.
Mission
The Foundation accomplishes these goals first by planning, funding, operating, and promoting the California Science and Engineering Fair, an annual event in which the best science and engineering students in grades 6-12 throughout the entire State of California are brought together to be recognized and honored, and to form communities with each other. The Foundation aspires to encourage all eligible students, regardless of socioeconomic status or geographic location, to develop their own scientific and engineering investigations and to participate in local science fairs leading to the California Science and Engineering Fair and beyond.
The Foundation also aspires to increase communication and cooperation within the broader science fair community, both within and outside of California, on issues of concern to all science fairs such as expanding student participation and enhancing the student experience during that participation.
Our mission is to inspire and empower the next generation of innovators, problem solvers, and leaders in the fields of science and engineering. Committed to fostering a culture of curiosity and discovery, we strive to provide a platform that encourages students across the state to explore, experiment, and present their innovative ideas
